8 DAYS IN SICILY, A TOUR OF SICILY ALONG THE BEST SPOT OF THE ISLAND OF THE SUN

Day 1th - Arrival in Catania, the city of black lava stone

Arrival at the Catania airport and meeting with guide. Depending on landing time transfer by private bus for a guided walk to discover the Baroque architecture of Catania. Lunch in a typical restaurant in the historic center of the city, after lunch we reach the Riviera dei Ciclopi in Acitrezza. In the late afternoon transfer to one of our selected hotels with reserved room and dinner.

The program of this Sicily Tour can be modified according to the arrival time.

Day 2th - Adventure tour on Etna

 

​

Pick up at the Hotel at 8.30am to get an amazing jeep tour on Etna. Start from the hotel with 4x4 vehicles with professional driver and guide. During the tour the guide will explain all aspect of the places visited. The best spots of this tour will be the Valle del Bove, an incredible volcanic caldera with lava wall high over 1000 meters. Walking along the edge of some lateral craters and a big lava flow. Stop to get lunch in Etna chalet and speleological session with a volcanic cave exploration. Maximum altitude reached 2000 meter. 
Return in hotel between 4pm-5pm.

Day 3th - The elegance of Taormina

 

​

After breakfast departure with private GTBus or private car and go in Taormina to visit the city and the Greek theater. Whoever come in Sicily cannot refrain by visiting the charming streets, the wonderful terrace in front of the bay of Naxos. Taormina is rich of history and stiles, like Roman, Norman, Baroque and we will pass through time and different architectures up to a delicious lunch in one of the most glamour restaurant.

Day 4th - Siracusa between art, sea and culinary discoveries

 

​

AAfter breakfast departure and transfer to Siracusa where is planned a guided tour of the Archaeological Park (the Greek theater, the ear of Dionysius, the Roman amphitheater). The lunch will be on boat, sailing along the coast to sight the skyline of the ancient Siracusa (Ortigia) with its churches and buildings. In the late afternoon visit of the city center and transfer in the south cost of Sicily. Wine tasting and dinner in Noto city in the area of Nero d'Avola wine production.

Day 5th - The city of white Stone, Churches and Monasteries

After breakfast, guided tour of Noto. Here the baroque Sicilian style reaches its maxium expression! Noto is the city of the monasteries and nobilitiar palaces, and while you walking, our guide will narrate ancient and fascinting stories about the life in Noto in the past centirues. After visit, free time to taste the famous almonds Granita.

We move towards the south coast in the marine village of Marzamemi to visit the Tonnara, here we get a tasting with the best typical dishes like, tuna cooked in various ways, canned fish of various types, bottarga, little tomato.

The south east coast of Sicily is extremely rich of unique and natural environments
and far from the classic tourism routes.

For dinner we take a meal in the ancient village of Marzamemi, in the middle of the charming main square that will leave in you an unforgettable memory!

Day 6th - Modica and Ragusa Ibla, the pearls of baroque

 

​

After breakfast departure for Modica and Ragusa Ibla, destinations still unknown to mass tourism. This is the background of the Camilleri novels (Il Commissario Montalbano), the place of chocolat, popular traditions, Baroque style and much more, as endless white sand beaches and amazing landscapes. We will lead you in a lush experience of smells and colors!

Return to the hotel for a relaxing candle light dinner!

Day 7th - The hidden treasures of Sicily

After breakfast we move towards Gela, where visit one of the most imporatnt arecheological museum of Sicily. After lunch transfer in Agrigento to visit the world heritage site of Temples valley, to finish with a relaxing dinner.

Day 8th - Goodbye Sicily!

 

​

After breakfast, return in Catania. The program of this day depend by the departure time, in each case, it will be dedicated to free time and a suggestive walk along the streets of Catania.
